hi!

welcome to my diary! I plan on sharing random things here from my personal life (movies/music/art I've been enjoying, random thoughts and life updates, daily observations, silly photos, etc.).

june 22, 2026

I made it to my mom's house in Missouri after a really fun pride weekend with my sister. I am exhausted. I didn't get many photos but my sister may later send me the ones she took. Here's what's new!

ohio vibes

had a chill morning getting some reading done. I went to my favorite bookstore and bought some Proust, Marx, Nietzsche, Aristotle, Plato, Dante, and Sade (epic haul as asual). Here I am using my sister's dog, henry, as an ottoman while we relax in the backyard before heading out for pride festivities.

we went to one of our frequent spots which has a nice outdoor seating area. Got to hang out with some of my sister's friends throughout the weekend who were really cool people.

this is a reference to a movie we we watched the night before, To Wong Foo. It was a fun watch, I would recommend it. We ended up checking out a bar that night that I hadn't been to and it was REALLY gay man vibes. Like a lot of dick swinging around and shit. Was not my cup of tea, but it had me thinking about Foucault.

we got up early the next morning and ate some bagels with friends, and then we watched the big parade. I'm not a fan of how it is basically just one big corporate advertisement, but I did like seeing so many queerdos. The weather was fantastic too, didn't even sweat! I decided to keep a tally of how many dogs (both actual dogs and people in dog fursuits or kink whateverthefuck) we saw throughout pride. Almost hit 100. After the parade we had beer (guiness!!!) and burgers and then went home to rest before the big drag show.

and here I am back at home at 2am after the drag show. We had a crazy uber drive and then we saw a lot of local queens at the drag show as well as jane don't and briar blush. Briar was kind of annoying and jane did only one number. The show was about 3 1/2 hours and by the last hour I was sober and tired and getting pissed at these twinks who would push their way in front of us only to suck face with one another. Jane Don't started dj'ing after the show but the music wasn't nearly good enough to throw ass to, so we took another crazy uber to a different club we hadn't been to yet (but while we were waiting for the uber we had a random chat with a local queen who was super cool). But alas, the new club had the same vibe as the one the night before, more very naked muscley men. So we sprinted home, ate some pizza, and crashed out.

here's a little bouldering gym in indianapolis that I stopped at to break up my drive today. Yesterday all of us had a nice brunch, my sister and I went on a hike and had some good sibling chats, and then we saw the absolutely horrible new RuPaul movie, Stop that Train. It was another really good day. This morning I got us pastries and then hit the road. Going to be at my mom's house for the next week and a half ish. It is very calm and relaxing here so I am hoping to lock in and get a lot of writing done. There should be updates on the philosophy page of this site very soon. Thanks for reading!

made the drive up to my sister's house for the tradition of pride weekend! Here are a couple updates before the festivities begin.

watched Tati's Playtime a couple nights ago at the independent theater and holy shit was it amazing on the big screen. I can't remember the last time I had such a big smile for two hours straight like that. One of the best films of all time, certainly.

ever since the wednesday show I've been in a real country-rock mood. I've been especially obsessed with the band Florry, listening to them every day and on the drive up to my sister's. I'd highly reccomend their whole discography. And they're from philly (like all good bands today). I'm completely hooked on them.

when I got to my sister's we had some nice mexican food for dinner, then we played some cornhole, mario kart, and watched a movie. Perfect chill thursday afternoon! I will be back with pride updates soon!

what an interesting few days it has been! The summer is beginning to summer now!

I got this new hat and some books from my favorite local bookstore! I bought it because its corduroy and has a funny worm on it. And I recieved some compliments on it at work!

I also bought some pajamas. I watched this indie film called Dog Movie and two of the characters wore these cute pajamas, and it made me realize "why don't I own pajamas?" So now I'm officially a pajama person after many many many years of just sleeping in shorts and a t-shirt or something.

I worked overtime this week which was quite exhausting, but my broke ass needs money. And I won't be working that much for the rest of the summer.

excuse the horribly dirty mirror, but I thrifted some cool new clothes! Excited to wear them out and about.

ok here's where things get interesting. I had the most fun day yesterday. After playing volleyball all morning long, I was invited to hang out with the performative male above, jacob. He brewed me and our friend kaylie some tea while we hung out at the local hipster spot in town. But he mentioned he and kaylie were seeing a concert that night. It just so happened to be Wednesday, one of my favorite bands who I have never seen! So I decided to get a ticket right there and join the two of them!! It was such an incredible surprise!

after walking to the venue we saw an asheville band called tombstone poetry open. I had heard of them before and they were really impressive live. They were the real deal.

we were right up front, super super close to everyone for both shows! The venue was cozy too. There were lots of kids there, it made me feel old. But the show was fantastic, Wednesday is super good live! They played most of their best songs. All of us moshed almost the entire time, and we were instantly soaked in sweat and were disgusting. My arms are so tired today I can barely lift them!

the closest way back was to go through a graveyard at night which was quite spooky. But the three of us were having fun still

the view of the city from the graveyard was so cool though! We took some crazy cursed images of jacob that are too frightening for this website. When we got back we all had a little guitar session playing Wednesday songs together which was a lot of fun. I went to bed super late because I was still buzzing from such a fun day, and I fell asleep on my couch. That is all, thanks for tuning in!

here's a short little update of some fun things the past couple of days!

I got to visit ethan#1 for an evening. We were gonna kayak but it was gross out so we just had a relaxing evening catching up. He made me this beautiful and very tasty whiskey sour!

drizzly and calm the next morning

from Trakl's collected works. He has been my companion for all the seasons for a year now.

last night, seth, erica, and I played bingo at the "lesbian" bar (which was rather straight). I can't recall ever playing an official game of bingo like that but it was so much fun!

wow it is already a week into june. The summer is flying by already even though I feel like it is just starting! Here's a couple updates...

kitty craft has been the mood for the week in terms of music

it is the part of the summer where I work a lot, but I have some fun things coming up

I got to see Werckmeister Harmonies with chels at my favorite local independent theater tonight. It was an amazing time getting to experience such an astonishing film on the big screen

fit for the theater

really been enjoying the all stars 11 season so far. I am rooting for Crystal! I liked her look from this past episode, I think there's something really interesting she is doing with the historical thread between the clown/jester/fool and modern drag.

big city! I plan on moving closer to the city in September which will be exciting! Also I forgot to mention that I went to a cat cafe for the first time and it was really fun (didn't take any photos tho)

here I am after getting home from a really fun climbing sesh with ethan #2 in greensboro. Crazy eyes from so much climbing and the night drive home (and also from dreading having to open at work immediately after). Which reminds me, I should probably go to bed since I have to open tomorrow soon. Bye! :)

here are a bunch of random things, mostly from today but some from this past week!

my amazing sister got me the Jinkx Monsoon mantra for some daily motivation :)

finally starting reading Bergson, and I finally caved and purchased the Criterion Jacques Tati box set! Really excited to watch all of this Tati stuff, which includes all of his films, short films, and all sorts of behind the scenes videos and interviews. Tati really brings more joie de vivre than any other director.

self explanatory

this stupid meme has been popping into my mind for the past couple days now. It's me and Rav :)

started Proust's Sodom and Gomorrah and it's so fantastic already. Really excited to continue reading this one. Proust has a way of writing certain things that enter my life at the exact moment I need it

two records I've been listening to often recently. Erick Cosaque always has me dancing around my apartment. And I've really been enjoying Yo La Tengo recently. I feel like I would have loved them in high school but for some reason I only started listening to them now. Amazing guitar work.

do not forget to hydrate when painting and dancing!

really stupid horse-thing I've been working on. Painted some more detail on the grass and sky tonight. I don't know how this painting ended up like this, don't ask me

lastly, I finished my May movie challenge yesterday which was to watch a Japanese film every day (since I had been missing out on some greats like Kurosawa and Ozu). But today I decided to return to my cinematographic home with Godard, and watched Une femme est une femme which was such a delight! Anna Karina was amazing as usual and the colour and strange cuts of music were captivating. Ok that's all!
